"Santa Bites"

Mills arrived at the fire house to find the man who's son drowned last week, Lulo waiting for him. Lulo apologizes for flipping out on Mills and for threatening him and tells him he doesn't blame him for the death of his son.

Casey arrives and Mills tells him he doesn't want to get in the middle of his issues with him and Dawson. Casey goes to the locker room and Dawson tries to talk to him about the fight but he ignores her.

Boden called Severide and Casey into his office to tell them that Donna could go into labor at any time and he wants them to know he might have to leave in a hurry and also that he might not be able to get another chief in right away. They tell him that they will have everything under control when he has to leave.

They get a call about an apartment fire. When they arrive on the scene a man broke the window and is yelling for help. When the firefighters get the ladder up near the window the man dives onto the ladder and nearly knocks Severide off. When they ask if someone else in the house he tells them that his wife was in the bathroom when the fire started. Severide and Casey go into the house to try to find her, Casey tells him that the fire is too much and they have to get out, as Severide is about to climb back out of the window he sees the woman and runs back in. They drag her to the open window and carry her down to Brett and Mills. Herrmann is disgusted with the women's husband because he didn't even try to save his wife, and dove out the window nearly taking out Severide in the process.

When they get back to the firehouse Chaplin is waiting for them, he tells Herrmann to give him his boot and tells everyone he wants it filled with money by the end of the week. The soup kitchen where he works has a broken stove and they won't be able to serve people for the holidays unless they fix it.

While in the lounge they turn on the TV and the husband that dove out of the window is being interviewed and is saying how he is a hero and he saved his wife. Mouch and Cruz are surprised and think they should call the news station and tell them their story, Severide tells them its no big deal to just forget about it.

Donna goes to see Boden at his office and she tells him she wants the baby to have both of their last names. Boden says no its going to be Boden, transition still means something to his family. Donna is not happy and leaves.

Boden asks Connie what she would do...

(Their conversation...)
Boden: “You ever been invited to a friend’s place for Thanksgiving, sat down for a big, beautiful once a year meal, got excited about a perfectly cooked turkey, and then they served up a ham.”
Connie: “A ham?”
Boden: “Instead of the turkey.”
Connie: “No I got that part, but…”
Boden: “See? Tradition is important, is it not?”
Connie: “I suppose it is.”
Boden: “Thank you Connie. Woman that understands. I mean, who knows if the pilgrims ate turkey at the first Thanksgiving? Maybe they had nothing but hams, lined up for miles, But me, turkey is the traditional Thanksgiving food. And Gravy. Brown. Made from the difference of a turkey, not some fancy foo-foo stuff made from pears, and sun dried tomatoes.”
Connie: “I do like a good gravy.”
Boden: “You better stand up for tradition Connie, or what else do we have?”
Connie: “Ham and pear gravy?”
Boden: “Thank you Connie.”

The man who jumped out of his window Fred Carlisle visits the firehouse and thanks them for saving him and his wife. He knows by the way the men are looking at him that they think he is horrible for leaving his wife to die in the house. He pulls up his shit and shows them a scar he has on half of his body. He tells them that when he was younger he was badly burned in an explosion and when his house caught on fire he panicked and jumped out of the window.

Casey asks Severide what is he doing after work and Severide tells him he is tired, Casey convinces him to go out for one drink at the bar. After a night of wild partying Casey wakes up the next morning on someones couch and a woman in a towel walks out in front of him, he is completely confused.

Its time for the holiday parade and the Molly's truck debut. Casey shows up late, hugs Dawson and apologizes and tells her they will work out their differences. Herrmann scores an interview with the local reporter and while they are filming Molly's truck rolls away and destroys the nativity scene and many other displays.

Casey later asks Severide what happened last night. Severide told him that they went to the girls apartment so Casey could charge his phone and Casey passed out on the couch. Severide hooked up with the girl who's name is Chloe. In the morning Casey was still asleep so Severide just left him there.

Mills and Brett receive a call and they head to the scene, there they find a man yelling in pain in an alley and realize a garbage truck ran over his legs. The man passes out from blood loss and they load him onto the stretcher and prepare to put him in the ambulance when a black car pulls up and someone gets out of the car.

Severide is called to head back to the Carlisle house to see if the building should be condemned or not. While he was there he realizes that the fire started in three different places and convinced it was the husband who started the fire. Severide calls the police and they head to the hospital to arrest Fred.

Back at the firehouse the men realize that no one has heard from Brett or Mills since the morning.

Chloe shows up and asks Dawson if a man named Matt (Casey) works there and tells her he left his phone at her apartment. Dawson is angry, she takes his phone from Chloe, goes to Casey and says "I found your phone!" They start arguing and Casey tells her that their relationship isn't working because Dawson doesn't respect him. She then goes home.

Herrmann and the Molly's crew decide to give Chaplin the Molly's truck for his soup kitchen.

Donna shows up at the fire station and starts yelling at Boden about their sons name. Donna then goes into labor, but none of the paramedics are there to help, Brett and Mills are missing and Dawson went home "sick." So they all load onto the fire truck and rush her to the hospital. But there is a traffic jam on the bridge. While Severide honks the horn Donna yells the baby is coming now! They then have no choice and have to deliver the baby in the truck. The baby is born and appears healthy and begins to cry. Boden wraps him up and gives him to Donna to hold. Donna tells Boden the baby’s name; Terrance Boden, some traditions are worth keeping. They finally arrive at the hospital and the baby stops breathing and is rushed away by the doctors.

Casey still can’t find Brett and Mills. So they head to the last scene that they were called to. They arrive in the alley where the man was run over by the garbage truck and find him still lying on the stretcher and the ambulance appears abandoned….

"Arrest in Transit"

Dawson and Casey aren't doing so good, they are trying to make the lieutenant/candidate thing work and it’s not working out too well.

On their first call, the team deals with a chemical spill. When Dawson breaks protocol to create a perimeter, another chief happens to pull up on the scene and sees that Dawson wasn't wearing protective gear. Casey’s ticked, especially when Boden tells him he’s got to get it under control.

When Casey talks to Dawson, he raises a very good point. Dawson continually breaks protocol, which might have been more acceptable as the PIC. But not as a candidate. Casey tells her, “Following orders is not up for debate…If it happens again, I’ll be forced to kick you off Truck.”

Mills finds Dawson sitting in the shower (fully dressed) crying, when he asks whats wrong she tells him shes debating on taking a shower or not. He knows something is wrong and really wants to help her.

On their second call, a desperate husband goes crazy trying to get his wife out of a burning building. When she’s found, he jumps off the stretcher and runs to her. When Mills calls him crazy, Herrmann says, “That’s marriage.” Dawson and Casey look at each other and it’s clear they are not feeling it.

Meanwhile, Severide and Brittany go on a run together, and she avoids a call from her mom. When Severide suggests they go see her family for Thanksgiving, she says no. Brittany asks to see a picture of Shay and asks Severide why he never talks about her. “You never talk about Kathleen. I kind of thought that was the deal,” he says. When Severide takes Brittany to a museum about the Chicago Fire and the history of the department, she breaks down and tells him that she was driving the car when her sister Kathleen was killed. She walked away from the accident with a few stitches, but her sister didn’t make it.

Brittany tells Severide that she has to go home to her parents in Florida. Severide tells her that he has been using Brittany as a coping mechanism so that he didn't have to deal with Shay's death. But he needs to deal with Shay's death on his own and Brittany needs to go home and deal with her sisters death with her family.

Turns out after all of the cooking and Zumba together Cruz is falling for Brett. When he asks her out she panics and tells him they are better just being friends.

Mills and Brett are on the scene for a high school student, Jason, who drowned in a school pool. He’s revived on scene, but taken to the hospital just in case. All seems to be fine but on the way to the hospital, Jason crashes and is pronounced dead at the hospital. Of course, Jason’s dad turns out to basically be the head of the Chicago mafia. He points out that his son was alive when he went into the ambulance and blames Mills for his son’s death. The dad shows up at the firehouse after shift and tells Mills, “You’re dead.”

At the end of the episode Brett decides to go on a date with Cruz.

Dawson stays late at Molly’s to close, and Mills stays late because he is afraid the mafia might be near. They clean up together and then have a beer. He asks her how she’s doing, knowing that she’s struggling. Dawson tells him that things between her and Casey aren't great, even admitting that their home life is on the rocks. He puts his hand on hers and then, Casey walks in and sees everything.

"Chopper"

Boden is with Donna as she gets an ultrasound and they agree to wait to find out the sex of their baby. The doctor then tells them that Donna has a condition called placenta previa, which outs her and the baby at risk in the third trimester.

Brittany wants Severide to call in sick to work and spend the day with her, but he says he can’t. Then she asks him to promise that he will be safe.

Casey sees Cruz and Brett whispering about Zumba and assumes they have a thing.

The squad is called to the scene of a downed helicopter that has exploded on the roof of an apartment building.

On the way to the scene Brett asks Mills about keeping a secret with someone in the firehouse for personal reasons. He tells her that in his experience in house relationships are better kept out in the open.

Severide ignores the 37 text messages from Brittany and continues with his job. On the roof Severide tends to the pilot and two passengers still stuck in the helicopter that is dangerously balancing on the roof. Mills and Brett go around helping all the victims on the ground. Boden tells Otis and Herrmann to find the missing rotor, they then find it in a yard with a women pinned under it, so Otis and Herrmann try to help her.

Then Brittany shows up to the helicopter scene worried about Severide because she heard his voice on the radio. Boden tells her she can’t be here and moves her behind the tapeline and tells her stop worrying and let Severide do his job.

Mouch and Cruz come out of the building, but Dawson still didn’t come out. Casey is worried so he goes to go back in but then there’s an explosion from inside. After the explosion he went to go back in but then Dawson comes out, he yells at her for giving away her mask and then tells her to go get checked by the paramedics.

Herrmann and Otis realize that the only way they can help the lady under the rotor is if they take the rotor apart. Otis runs to get tools from the truck, while he’s gone Herrmann tries to make conversation with the lady, he then makes her laugh, which hurts her then she says don’t make me laugh. Then Otis gets back with tools and frees her, she hugs Herrmann. Otis notices something on the rotor; it’s a remote controlled drone.

Dawson then sees a trail of blood leading to a shed. Inside she finds a man with a head wound lying on the floor clutching a remote control. He apologizes for screwing up, and tells her his name is Alan and she has him holding a cloth on his head. Mills then goes to help Dawson leaving Brett alone with a victim that is trapped by the helicopters tailpiece. After they broke into the van to get him out Brett notices a bag full of passports. After Mills leaves the man in the van wakes up and starts freaking out. Brett yells at him to let her do her job, and he pulls a gun on her and tells her he is not going to the hospital.

While Dawson and Mills are helping the man named Alan he says that his brother Jack was with him on the roof flying their dads drone when the chopper went down.

Dawson told Boden over the radio that there is a victim down on the roof beside the apartment. Casey and Cruz go to search for Jack and end up finding him near a live wire and a transformer. Casey jumps over the fence while Cruz goes to see about cutting the power. Cruz comes back and tells Casey there’s no way to cut the power. Jacks foot is stuck in barbed wire. Casey cuts the wire from around Jack’s food and drags him away just as the live wire touches Jack’s blood on the ground. The transformer then explodes but Casey and Jack are both okay.

Severide frees the pilot of the chopper but the two passengers are still pinned inside. As the chopper balances on the roof Severide works to free them, pieces of the roof keep falling down to the ground making the Chopper fall a little more each time, Boden radios Severide and tells him he has to hurry. Severide gets the passengers out but he is still inside. As the chopper falls a little more Severide jumps out and is okay.

Dawson helps Mills load Alan onto the ambulance and the two share a laugh, saying it feels just like old times. Brett then returns to the ambulance and tells Mills her patient refused treatment. Later Brett realizes that Mills’ had a relationship with Dawson; he tells her he will explain the whole story over beer some other time.

Casey wants to get a hotel room for him and Dawson to celebrate their big saves. She realizes he doesn’t want to go home because he didn’t tell Severide that he has to leave.

Cruz asks Brett if she is okay and then gives her a “Free Class” pass for Zumba. Casey sees the moment and confronts Brett about what he thinks is a romance happening. Brett says no its not like that then asks Casey if he can keep a secret and tells him how Cruz is a Zumba instructor. But of course Casey can’t keep a secret and tells Dawson who tells someone else and so on.

Herrmann tells Boden to stay positive about Donna’s condition. He told Boden to just put his arm around Donna and say everything will be alright he knows from experience. Boden asks what if it isn’t alright?

As Brett drives home from the station an unknown car is following her. She is scared so she takes all kinds of different turns trying to lose him, she turns into a dead end ally as he passes she thinks that she lost him but then he backs up and pulls in behind her. She is afraid that he wants to hurt her but he just wanted to say thank you for saving him.

Boden meets Donna at the doctor’s appointment and she tells him that they are going to be having a boy, Boden starts crying of happiness.

Severide and Brittany fight about her showing up at the scene. Dawson and Casey think this may be the end of their relationship but then overhear them making up....

While Cruz is preparing for his class one of his students come in and tell him he has a full room today. He enters the room to find practically the whole firehouse in his class. He wants to leave but they convince him to stay and lead the class because they paid a lot for it and also they showed up to support him.

Brittany and Severide are talking and he tells her that her tattoo of her sisters name looks new, she tells him she adds onto it every now and then so she remembers the accident. She apologizes for showing up at the scene and tells him she was afraid she was going to lose him. She told him he is the only one that understands how it feels to lose someone.

Salute to the fallen officer.

This was a very touching moment.

He seems happy.

He seems really happy with her. She is also really pretty and nice. I still feel like maybe she's hiding something though...

Law & Order: SVU and Chicago PD

After Severide found the pictures he got Detectives Lindsay and Voight from Chicago PD into the mix. After realizing that her half-brother was in a few of the photos, Lindsay called Detective Rollins from New York, the last known location that Lindsay had for her sibling.

After Lindsay and Jay Halsted arrived in New York, the search for Lindsay's half-brother, Teddy began. They wanted to find Teddy not only to get him off the street but to also shut down the child pornography ring, a live Internet broadcast with a young boy (Henry) being forced to perform viewer requests no matter how bad was just hours away.

After tracking Henry to the youth center where he was last seen, the cops are led to high school senior Jocelyn. She's a survivor of these perverts, and that's how she knows Teddy. Last she heard about him, he was working at the piers.

Teddy isn't in a good position; the piers are a hot spot for hustling. Teddy doesn't want to help the cops. Benson, tried to connect with him by giving him an extra blanket in his cell. She plays to his conscience, explaining that the men who ruined him 10 years ago are still doing it to other children.

Benson and Lindsay go to Jocelyn again, they mention how they found Teddy and how they are trying to bust a sex ring. Jocelyn then runs off without saying anything. It turns out that the same men, in addition to being assaulted by Teddy, tortured her. When confronted by Jocelyn, Teddy tells her that he only did it because he knew the other men would be much worse.

Benson then finds out that the security guard at the youth center is a part of the sex ring. He was found to be responsible for handing over kids form the center to the child abusers in return for money. His excuse was he needed the money for his own children, who were in college. When he went to run away Benson took him down.

Voight roughed up the security guard a bit, and even though he probably deserved it, Benson stopped Voight. She even made a reference to her former partner, Detective Elliott Stabler, who also had a hot temper. She said she wouldn't tolerate Voight's behavior, especially because he has no jurisdiction in New York and she wouldn't hesitate to lock him up if he did it again.

The only way they could get Jocelyn to talk was through Benson and Voight pretending to be Henry's parents. Once see spoke up, the police were able to find the people that were doing this, they broke in the door of the hideout where Henry was. They arrested the guy but then they found out the ring is based out of Chicago not New York and its bigger than they thought it was.

And then Jocelyn and Teddy remember a man who might be the one who captured Henry, all they have is his name, everyone wants to track him down. They do find Bob Clinton, just in time too. He was about to pin Henry down when they broke in and took him to jail. When Clinton was taken in, a video feed shows that another young girl will soon face the same things Henry did. Clinton says he will only talk if they give him immunity, so Benson sends him down to the holding cell while he 'thinks things over'. Clinton tells them there is someone higher up running the show.

Then back in Chicago Andrew Lewella (the man who was responsible for financing the child pornography) and a police officer were shot. Surveillance footage doesn’t show much, but then Roman notices a little detail about the killer, his ear is disfigured. Then looking at Lewella’s payments, Rozek notices there’s one payment about 5k a month that goes to some nursing facility in Oak Brook. It’s suspicious because he didn’t have any family.

They then visit the nursing home and are guided towards Mrs. Hughes, one of the residents. She doesn’t know Lewella or that he is making her payments, she thought her daughter Matilda was. They track down Matilda, who works at the Department of Health and Children Services. But she hasn’t been heard from in 3 days. They go to her house to find her dead.

Back at the precinct, the gang is going through files when Erin stumbles upon her brother’s file. She never knew he was in the system nor did she know he was assigned to a foster family for 2-months. The file shows that the Widing’s currently have two foster children 9-year-old Amy and 13-year-old Chris. She and Rollins pay the family a little visit, hoping to get some answers. Sam Widing opens the door and tells them to wait so he can put the dog away. In that moment, Rollins gets a call notifying her that Jill; Sam’s wife has been dead for a while, yet she’s still listed as a foster parent on the file, obviously, suspicious. They enter the house and find Sam upstairs with a gun in his hand, repeating, “I’m sick” over and over again. They try to talk him down and let him know he can get some help as long as he tells them where Amy and Chris are, but it doesn’t work. Sam blows his brains out.

We now know a Department of Health and Children Services employee was responsible for funneling kids to foster parent Sam Widing. With help from Lewella they were able to send the kids to New York from Chicago where Clinton took the pictures and committed the abuse.

Roman and Burgess took the picture of the shooter with the disfigured ear to different MMA fighting rings and they finally get an ID on the shooter, Todd Ledbetter. He’s got a warrant out for his arrest and he is also registered as a sex offender. A witness tells them about a house he was last seen entering. As they close in, Ledbetter escapes through the roof, jumping from building to building. Eventually, Ledbetter tries to jump onto another roof but doesn’t make it and falls to his death.

The rest of the unit burst into the house and find the little girl; Amy, tied up to a chair. Amy finds comfort in Lindsay’s arms. Amy tells them that the big man took her brother Chris from the house. Latter Lindsay tells Voight that she wants Amy to stay at her house until she finds someone she trusts to adopt her. That goes against rules, but Voight asks Platt for the favor, to which she agrees.

Lindsay’s mom finds Teddy and convinces him to help. She takes him to the office where he notices the man on the board. Matilda’s boss at the Department of Health and Children Services! They bring him into Voight’s torture chamber because he doesn’t want to say he is involved. Benson then comes down and tells him to stop and let her handle it. She tells him that he can redeem himself, he can turn his life around despite all the bad he has done and “still feel the sun” on his face in jail. All he has to do is tell them where Chris is, which he does. They find the second house and find Chris locked in a room, he is scared, but he is safe.

The deceased officers wife and daughter are picking up their fathers things from the station. As they exit they are surrounded by a salute of officers who gathered outside to honor the fallen officer.

Lindsay then goes to Amy, and tells her that she found a nice family that she trusts. Also they want to adopt her and her brother Chris. And Lindsay is going to join them for dinner to meet the family and see Amy’s new room.

"Nobody Touches Anything"

Severide came home from Vegas with a surprise. The mystery woman he was seen kissing at the craps table turned out to be his new wife, Brittany. Everyone thought it was a joke at first.

I loved how he told Boden.
Boden: "Looks like the trip was good for you."
Severide: "Yea. Vegas was great! You know played a little craps, hit the pool, got some sun, and oh yea, I got married."

Severide may seem fine on the surface, but everyone is noticing the small changes in his behavior, like high-fiving the whole squad.

Everyone made a bet to see how long Severide is going to stay with Brittany. Everyone is worried about him though. He's not ready to accept any advice yet from anyone, Boden and Herrmann soon realized that the only person who could talk him down when he gets like this was Shay. Now that she's not around no one knows what to do. The closest people Severide still has are Casey and Dawson. Who had different point of views on this situation. Dawson knew something was a little off, but Casey just wants to leave it alone and enjoy Severide's happiness.

Dawson finally confronted Severide about how he's been avoiding things since Shay died.

This was their conversation.
Dawson: "I think maybe you're hiding, and I know that Shay wouldn't want that for you."
Severide: "You think she'd want you putting your wedding on hold forever?"
Dawson: "No, that's completely different."
Severide: "Look, some people, they get married when they know it's right, however quick it is. And some other people, they put it off. Maybe you're doing what's right for you and Casey. Just before you accuse anyone of hiding, check and make sure you're not doing that yourself."

Casey told Severide that him and Brittany could live with Dawson and him. But Dawson didn't know until Severide came up to her and thanked her for letting them stay with Casey and her. Later Dawson finally gave in and decided to accept the Brittany situation because if Severide is happy, then she would be as well. Maybe Dawson gave in a bit too easy, it was like she decided that all because she didn't want to admit that what Severide said about her hiding may be right.

Dawson's not the only one with secrets, there's clearly more than meets the eye to Brittany. The way she bristled at the mention of her family coming for a reception, and the way she was upset near the end of the episode, its clear she's hiding something.

Newhouse was trying to hide his business but Mills wasn't having it. While Newhouse's intentions were honorable, it was nice to see the squad pool money together for his daughter's class trip.

Brett wanted to go to Zumba classes when she went Cruz turned out to be one of the highest rated Zumba instructors on Yelp, something he wanted to keep a secret. Brett will keep quiet if she can stay in the class and give Cruz cooking instructions.

The episode ended with the station getting a house fire call. When the injured owner is reduced from his cellar holding a suspicious box, in the box are pictures of children, child pornography. Severide brings Sergeant Voight and Detective Lindsay into the mix for further investigating. Detective Lindsay recognizes one of the children in one of the photos, its a 15 year old boy who turns out to be her half brother. Lindsay and Voight send the pictures off to Manhattan Special Victims Unit and are headed off to New York to work the case.

"Madmen and Fools"

Casey still helps his sister out by taking down his brother-in-law, Jim. Jim is leaving Casey's sister Christie and his niece Violet with little to nothing, Casey doesn't like that. Jim's mistress is keeping a secret too, it turns out she is wanted for a crime. So Casey uses her as black mail. In the end Christie got a better settlement, which made Casey happy.

The firehouse gets a call, a little boy named Archie got his head stuck in a balcony railing and his mother Catherine is holding it up, with not much time, the railing is about to fall! After the squad gets Archie's head out Brett decides to take him to the hospital to get checked out, his mother fights against the idea. While at the hospital her reason why she didn't want him to go to the hospital is clear. She and Archie have been at the hospital before and Child Protective Services were called on her and Archie was taken away.

The same thing happens again and Archie is taken away. So Catherine goes to the firehouse seeking allies, she pleads with Brett and Severide to help her out by explaining her situation to the Child Protective Services. Catherine and her ex have a history of alcohol abuse, but her ex is gone now and Catherine is clean.

Severide is cold to her and tells Brett not to get involved. He tells her about how Shay got attached to a patient and later on he had shot himself. He doesn't want Brett to get too attached. But Brett tells him second chances are important. Then they agree to help Catherine.

Child Protective services doesn't move fast enough for Brett. So she decides to go into the CPS office and demands that he takes care of Catherine and Archie, she told him she is going to sit in the office until he works on their case first. So he takes Catherine and Archie's file and opens it to look at it.

Newhouse is a secret private investigator, part repo man. This week he takes his newest partner Mills on a ride-along to fetch the prize possession of a client going through a bad divorce, her dog.

Dawson starts her training with Herrmann. She hated him treating her like a baby and she felt like she was left on the outside looking in. Herrmann cares deeply for Dawson and he takes this role seriously. He wants whats best for her and that means being prepared. Dawson may think she already knows skills from the academy but Herrmann believes a bit differently.

Everybody told Severide they couldn't go on the Vegas trip so he deiced to ask Brett who told him "I would love to but that wouldn't be a good idea."

But the trip continued and by the end of the episode we saw Severide kissing a stranger who won him money.

"The Nuclear Option"

I sure hope Severide can forget about Shay's death and be able to start acting normal again. One positive thing for Severide is he is forming a friendship with Shay's replacement, Brett.

Brett decides to stay in Chicago instead of going home with Harrison.

Brett's house got robbed. But I loved the way Brett handled the robbery. It's sad of course but she dealt with it really well.

Herrmann finally yelled at Dawson for leaving the compartment doors open, she told him she has been doing it on purpose.

Dawson is now going to be shadowing Herrmann instead of Casey.

I loved when Dawson and Herrmann were talking later on Herrmann said "I'm going to make a firefighter out of you." and Dawson replied with "That's exactly what I want."

Casey threatened his brother in law who is cheating on Casey's sister. Hopefully he doesn't do something he will regret.

Also Cruz can now drive the truck again! But Cruz lets Otis have his moment of glory with his nephews.

Mouch offers for truck 81 to take over service squad's bathroom duties for the rest of the year if Capp will fix the Moll'y food truck that is parked on the side of the road and keeps getting parking tickets.

Severide tries to organize a rescue squad Vegas weekend.

"Apologies are Dangerous"

There were a lot of firsts on last nights episode, it was Dawson's first day as a candidate, the first time Severide saved a life off the job, because of Shay's paramedic training, the first day Mills was a paramedic, Mouch's first day back after the crash, and the first time Brett choked during a rescue.

Severide was riding the subway when all of a sudden the train stopped and there were gun shots, everyone from the front ran to the back to get off, Severide went to the front. There he found a boy with a gun and a women was shot in the chest. The women tells him that there is another gunman who went to the back. Severide called for help on the radio and they send help. Shooting begins again so Severide and the women take off down the tracks and into a station. The shooters find Severide and put a gun to his head, the gunmen argue amongst themselves and then the police arrive. Later the police ask Severide if he needs a ride home, he said no and was about to leave then they tell him he can't leave until Homicide gets his statement.

Brett tells Boden and Mills that she never had a male partner before.

Everyone places bets on how Severide got his black eye, they don't think even he remembers. He doesn't tell anyone what really happens.

Then a guy named Harrison showed up looking for Brett. He told her that he blew it, he got cold feet about the wedding and wants her back, he tells her to please come home. Otis thought she was the runaway bride, not her husband. Harrison told Brett that he had put an offer on the house she always wanted back home.

Boden calls Severide into his office to tell him that he got a courtesy call from CPD about the action on the El Train. Boden then tells Severide that its not just about showing up, then he tells him if he doesn't get Shay's death beyond him that there is no place in the firehouse for him.

The Molly's food truck didn't pass inspection, because there are new regulations. Herrmann knows its because of him. But he doesn't know what he did wrong.

At Dawson's first fire Boden expects her to find more water before the truck runs dry, but the hydrant has been vandalized so she has to do something else, she then sees a building across the street with a hydrant in it, she brakes into the building and uses the hydrant. Severide saw in the building that was on fire chains on one of the doors, he thinks that its a sweat shop.

Herrmann goes to Chief Hale's house, he tells him he doesn't care if he sandbags his career but honest guys are trying to make a go of Molly's. Hale then walks Herrmann over to his garage, which is full of a energy water Herrmann was schilling two years ago. Which is why Hale hates Herrmann.

The lady from the train comes to see Severide and to thank him, she asks Severide if she can meet his paramedic friend. When Severide says she's dead the lady says "She's here, I can feel her."

"Just Drive the Truck"

Episode 3 starts with firehouse 51 getting a fire alert. On their way to the fire they notice another fire truck going to the same fire, the other fire truck is Welch's. Cruz wanted to be the first truck on the scene so the trucks race to the scene. Casey tells Cruz to just forget about it and drive. Cruz was about to forget it and just drive until another firefighter said that if the other truck beats them to the scene they will have to take orders from Welch. So Cruz races on, which leads to the two fire trucks colliding. Cruz didn't know what had happened, he says they came out of nowhere. Welch's team said Cruz blew the light. Mills is helping get the driver of Welch's truck out when all of a sudden he falls over.

Cruz was taken to the side to take a breathalyzer while in the middle of helping to get people out of the other truck.

Mouch can't see, he has a lot of debris in his eye, luckily the injury didn't penetrate, he'll be okay.

There's a guy injured in Welch's truck named Molina who is Welch's best friend, that guy is raced to the hospital, he is unconscious and unresponsive.

Serveride is worried about Mills, who admits he has been getting dizzy since the building collapse and blames the pain meds he's been taking. Severide tells Mills he should get checked before next shift.

Boden tells Casey that Dawson could be a candidate on truck 81 in Firehouse 51, the catch is Casey and Dawson cannot get married... When Casey tells Dawson she is excited but she doesn't know the catch. Dawson and Casey later talk about what working together means to their future. Dawson tells Boden later that Casey and her are serious about the opportunity.

Mouch gets annoyed when Cruz didn't look at all the particulars when he suggested they open a food truck for Molly's.

Mills had a major bruise on the side of his body, he learns he has PVVB and equilibrium problem, and he can't be cleared to go back to truck. Mills goes to see his grandfather, who says Mills looks like his mother.

Cruz refuses legal counsel because he says the light was either green or yellow, NOT red, but if Melina doesn't wake up Cruz will be charged with man slauter. Cruz' duties are suspended until the case is cleared, Otis is driving truck until Cruz is back.

While at the hospital with all the guys from both trucks Hermann offers to host something at Molly's for Molina and his family. While at Molly's later Dawson decides to tell everyone her and Casey are splitting up, because she's going to be on the truck, everyone cheers for her.

Then Hermann announces that he got a call and Molina is awake and talking!

Newhouse decides he wants a cut on the Molly's truck in return for giving them a truck to use.

At the hospital Molina comes clean! He tells the Chief that Welch gave him the nod to get to the scene come hell or high water, which means no matter what! So in the end Cruz is off the hook.

Once Casey tells the Chief they want Dawson on truck 81, Mills realizes there is an opening for a paramedic and he wants to fill the spot.

"Wow me"

Casey finally proposed to Dawson!

The first thing she wanted to do when she woke up the next morning was to tell Shay. Casey told Dawson that Shay helped buy the ring for Dawson before she passed away.

Welch, at the other firehouse Dawson was supposed to move to, refused to work with a women.

Dawson and Brett are becoming friends, but whats up with the big wad of cash in the middle of her living room within view of the window? Hope it's nothing bad.

Severide is drowning in his sorrows. He was drunk and said something about Brett looking like Shay and then Herrman told him it was time to go home(he was at Molly's).

Lindsay told Severide she can't be the girl that waits for him alone in a restaurant, she can only be his friend.

Donna has a high-risk pregnancy, Boden feels his dream of fatherhood might never happen.

Newhouse brought his daughter Naomi into the firehouse, Naomi helped Cruz with the presentation for expanding Molly's. After the presentation the look on Herrmann's face looked like he was angry but he loved Cruz's idea.

"Always"

I can't believe Shay died.

Severide is thinking about leaving the firehouse.

At the end of the episode, Severide was watching a video he had made with Shay, showing their promise to each other that they would always support one another. Which made him cry, then I cried.

Dawson got a new paramedic partner. (The new paramedic kind of reminds me of Shay...)

Inspired by Shay, Herrmann decides to franchise Molly's, Otis and Cruz want in if he expands the business.

Mouch tries to distract Boden by inviting him and his new wife Donna on a double date with him and Trudy.

Newhouse finds out that Mills' paternal grandfather is living outside of Chicago, which leads Mills to track down one of his young relatives.

Dawson showed up to work late because of a mysterious appointment. The appointment was a counseling appointment, during the appointment Dawson brakes down and reveals that her and Shay had switched places before Shay got hit by the beam, Dawson thinks that she should of been hit by the beam, not Shay. But Dawson is not opening up to Casey, she's talking to Antonio (her brother) instead.

Dawson then requests that Casey asks her to marry him again so the memory of his proposal is not tied to the day Shay died. Then Dawson tells Casey "The answer's yes. The answer's always yes." But Casey tells her that he is going to do it right and ask her a different day.

Season 2 Finale!

In Season 2's finale Dawson passed her firefighters test and got assigned to a different firehouse than the rest of the crew. Severide had an emotional crisis when a barely alive, badly burned boy is discovered in a room that he swept earlier. Chief Boden is getting married. Herrman is the best man in the wedding, he promised to get a church for Boden but couldn't, so instead they had the ceremony and party at the firehouse with all of their friends and colleagues. The wedding ceremony gives Mouch a chance to meet and girl that works for Chicago P.D. named Trudy. Mills asked Newhouse to look into his father's side of the family. Casey proposes to Dawson at Boden and Donna's wedding. He says "I'm a lucky man to have you in my life. And i want to make sure we're together forever" Dawson didn't get to answer because a call came. But when she told Shay that he proposed you can tell by her smile that she was going to say yes. But the call turns into a worst case scenario when no one answers Boden over the radio. The whole team: truck, rescue, and paramedics are in the burning building as it explodes! The episode ends with Boden trying to reach someone on the radio, when no one answers. Romance was in the air during Season 2's finale, several couples took big steps in their relationships. Yet it was all overshadowed by a "Is it fall yet?" cliffhanger.
