"Apologies are Dangerous"

There were a lot of firsts on last nights episode, it was Dawson's first day as a candidate, the first time Severide saved a life off the job, because of Shay's paramedic training, the first day Mills was a paramedic, Mouch's first day back after the crash, and the first time Brett choked during a rescue.

Severide was riding the subway when all of a sudden the train stopped and there were gun shots, everyone from the front ran to the back to get off, Severide went to the front. There he found a boy with a gun and a women was shot in the chest. The women tells him that there is another gunman who went to the back. Severide called for help on the radio and they send help. Shooting begins again so Severide and the women take off down the tracks and into a station. The shooters find Severide and put a gun to his head, the gunmen argue amongst themselves and then the police arrive. Later the police ask Severide if he needs a ride home, he said no and was about to leave then they tell him he can't leave until Homicide gets his statement.

Brett tells Boden and Mills that she never had a male partner before.

Everyone places bets on how Severide got his black eye, they don't think even he remembers. He doesn't tell anyone what really happens.

Then a guy named Harrison showed up looking for Brett. He told her that he blew it, he got cold feet about the wedding and wants her back, he tells her to please come home. Otis thought she was the runaway bride, not her husband. Harrison told Brett that he had put an offer on the house she always wanted back home.

Boden calls Severide into his office to tell him that he got a courtesy call from CPD about the action on the El Train. Boden then tells Severide that its not just about showing up, then he tells him if he doesn't get Shay's death beyond him that there is no place in the firehouse for him.

The Molly's food truck didn't pass inspection, because there are new regulations. Herrmann knows its because of him. But he doesn't know what he did wrong.

At Dawson's first fire Boden expects her to find more water before the truck runs dry, but the hydrant has been vandalized so she has to do something else, she then sees a building across the street with a hydrant in it, she brakes into the building and uses the hydrant. Severide saw in the building that was on fire chains on one of the doors, he thinks that its a sweat shop.

Herrmann goes to Chief Hale's house, he tells him he doesn't care if he sandbags his career but honest guys are trying to make a go of Molly's. Hale then walks Herrmann over to his garage, which is full of a energy water Herrmann was schilling two years ago. Which is why Hale hates Herrmann.

The lady from the train comes to see Severide and to thank him, she asks Severide if she can meet his paramedic friend. When Severide says she's dead the lady says "She's here, I can feel her."
