"Santa Bites"

Mills arrived at the fire house to find the man who's son drowned last week, Lulo waiting for him. Lulo apologizes for flipping out on Mills and for threatening him and tells him he doesn't blame him for the death of his son.

Casey arrives and Mills tells him he doesn't want to get in the middle of his issues with him and Dawson. Casey goes to the locker room and Dawson tries to talk to him about the fight but he ignores her.

Boden called Severide and Casey into his office to tell them that Donna could go into labor at any time and he wants them to know he might have to leave in a hurry and also that he might not be able to get another chief in right away. They tell him that they will have everything under control when he has to leave.

They get a call about an apartment fire. When they arrive on the scene a man broke the window and is yelling for help. When the firefighters get the ladder up near the window the man dives onto the ladder and nearly knocks Severide off. When they ask if someone else in the house he tells them that his wife was in the bathroom when the fire started. Severide and Casey go into the house to try to find her, Casey tells him that the fire is too much and they have to get out, as Severide is about to climb back out of the window he sees the woman and runs back in. They drag her to the open window and carry her down to Brett and Mills. Herrmann is disgusted with the women's husband because he didn't even try to save his wife, and dove out the window nearly taking out Severide in the process.

When they get back to the firehouse Chaplin is waiting for them, he tells Herrmann to give him his boot and tells everyone he wants it filled with money by the end of the week. The soup kitchen where he works has a broken stove and they won't be able to serve people for the holidays unless they fix it.

While in the lounge they turn on the TV and the husband that dove out of the window is being interviewed and is saying how he is a hero and he saved his wife. Mouch and Cruz are surprised and think they should call the news station and tell them their story, Severide tells them its no big deal to just forget about it.

Donna goes to see Boden at his office and she tells him she wants the baby to have both of their last names. Boden says no its going to be Boden, transition still means something to his family. Donna is not happy and leaves.

Boden asks Connie what she would do...

(Their conversation...)
Boden: “You ever been invited to a friend’s place for Thanksgiving, sat down for a big, beautiful once a year meal, got excited about a perfectly cooked turkey, and then they served up a ham.”
Connie: “A ham?”
Boden: “Instead of the turkey.”
Connie: “No I got that part, but…”
Boden: “See? Tradition is important, is it not?”
Connie: “I suppose it is.”
Boden: “Thank you Connie. Woman that understands. I mean, who knows if the pilgrims ate turkey at the first Thanksgiving? Maybe they had nothing but hams, lined up for miles, But me, turkey is the traditional Thanksgiving food. And Gravy. Brown. Made from the difference of a turkey, not some fancy foo-foo stuff made from pears, and sun dried tomatoes.”
Connie: “I do like a good gravy.”
Boden: “You better stand up for tradition Connie, or what else do we have?”
Connie: “Ham and pear gravy?”
Boden: “Thank you Connie.”

The man who jumped out of his window Fred Carlisle visits the firehouse and thanks them for saving him and his wife. He knows by the way the men are looking at him that they think he is horrible for leaving his wife to die in the house. He pulls up his shit and shows them a scar he has on half of his body. He tells them that when he was younger he was badly burned in an explosion and when his house caught on fire he panicked and jumped out of the window.

Casey asks Severide what is he doing after work and Severide tells him he is tired, Casey convinces him to go out for one drink at the bar. After a night of wild partying Casey wakes up the next morning on someones couch and a woman in a towel walks out in front of him, he is completely confused.

Its time for the holiday parade and the Molly's truck debut. Casey shows up late, hugs Dawson and apologizes and tells her they will work out their differences. Herrmann scores an interview with the local reporter and while they are filming Molly's truck rolls away and destroys the nativity scene and many other displays.

Casey later asks Severide what happened last night. Severide told him that they went to the girls apartment so Casey could charge his phone and Casey passed out on the couch. Severide hooked up with the girl who's name is Chloe. In the morning Casey was still asleep so Severide just left him there.

Mills and Brett receive a call and they head to the scene, there they find a man yelling in pain in an alley and realize a garbage truck ran over his legs. The man passes out from blood loss and they load him onto the stretcher and prepare to put him in the ambulance when a black car pulls up and someone gets out of the car.

Severide is called to head back to the Carlisle house to see if the building should be condemned or not. While he was there he realizes that the fire started in three different places and convinced it was the husband who started the fire. Severide calls the police and they head to the hospital to arrest Fred.

Back at the firehouse the men realize that no one has heard from Brett or Mills since the morning.

Chloe shows up and asks Dawson if a man named Matt (Casey) works there and tells her he left his phone at her apartment. Dawson is angry, she takes his phone from Chloe, goes to Casey and says "I found your phone!" They start arguing and Casey tells her that their relationship isn't working because Dawson doesn't respect him. She then goes home.

Herrmann and the Molly's crew decide to give Chaplin the Molly's truck for his soup kitchen.

Donna shows up at the fire station and starts yelling at Boden about their sons name. Donna then goes into labor, but none of the paramedics are there to help, Brett and Mills are missing and Dawson went home "sick." So they all load onto the fire truck and rush her to the hospital. But there is a traffic jam on the bridge. While Severide honks the horn Donna yells the baby is coming now! They then have no choice and have to deliver the baby in the truck. The baby is born and appears healthy and begins to cry. Boden wraps him up and gives him to Donna to hold. Donna tells Boden the baby’s name; Terrance Boden, some traditions are worth keeping. They finally arrive at the hospital and the baby stops breathing and is rushed away by the doctors.

Casey still can’t find Brett and Mills. So they head to the last scene that they were called to. They arrive in the alley where the man was run over by the garbage truck and find him still lying on the stretcher and the ambulance appears abandoned….
